Want a Natural Birth?

Tips to obtaining the birth you want!

Most families find Peaceful Pregnancy Pathways because they have a good understanding of why pregnancy is natural to the women's body and finding a provider who is trained in nurturing that is essential!

Here are this Midwife's favorite picks that she has found to compliment Midwifery Care and encourage families to achieve the bliss of birth:

-Find a Midwife! Low-risk women have better birth outcomes when cared for by a Licensed, Certified Professional Midwife

-Get a Doula! If you do not know what a doula is, learn it, love it, and GET ONE!

-Educate yourself! Learn from a Midwife how very different each birth is and why the patience and autonomy of a Midwife allows for each body to do it's labor flow in a supportive environment.

-Use the lost art of womanly care! The careful blend of ancient traditional care and modern care allows Midwives to tend to the family on a whole level.

About Me

Midwife Gelena

Gelena Hinkley is a professional midwife who studied under the tutelage of renowned Midwife, Shari Daniels, at the International School of Midwifery in Miami. It is there that Gelena completed the Direct-Entry Midwifery program and passed her NARM board exams. Gelena is a Licensed Midwife (LM) by the Florida Department of Health and certified as a Professional Midwife (CPM).

She is also the owner and creator of Midwife 101, an online childbirth series and co-owner of Natural BirthWorks, a birthing center. Gelena puts a high priority on educating her expectant mothers (and partners) about the natural labor process and caring for baby after the birth. Aside from her love of midwifery, Gelena also enjoys helping moms learn simple ways to live and stay as earth-friendly as possible. She is very proud of the garden and chickens in her backyard and is teaching her 5 children how to compost and cultivate organic fruits and vegetables. Her love for nature allows herself, her husband, and her children to live a simple, healthy and green lifestyle.“My goal is to provide the best care for expecting mothers so they can experience a peaceful and natural birth with the help of a midwife in the comfort of their own home. My philosophy is built around three elements: nurturing, educating and empowering families. I believe and embrace the process of pregnancy, labor, and birth as a women’s rite of passage. P³ is here to nurture families through pregnancy, birth, and the early years. I strive to ensure future parents are aware of all of their birthing options, and the importance of the natural progress of labor.”

“We spend most of the year traveling but knew when we found out we were pregnant that we wanted to have a home birth. We searched in Hawaii, Los Angeles, Portugal and Florida for the perfect midwife. We finally found her and it was Gelena!!! No matter where I was and am in the world Gelena gets right back to me. I would not have been able to give birth to my 9 lb 14 oz baby without the support of Gelena and Sandy. Two of the most amazing women I know!!!”
